Personal Statement

I currently attend Starr’s Mill High School in Fayetteville, Ga, where I am a senior. I plan on majoring in Engineering, most likely in either Mechanical or Electrical. I also plan on pursuing a post graduate degree in Business. I am scheduled to take my ACT on October 26. I also have my lacrosse profile on the following link and my 2015 highlight video will be available soon. https://new.berecruited.com/athletes/2677451 I have lettered academically in my first three years of high school, maintaining a 3.8 GPA with a 94% average. I took three Advanced Placement (AP) classes in my junior year, and this year I am taking another three. Those courses include Physics I, Language and Composition, Environmental Science, Calculus BC, Literature and Composition, and European History. I enjoy mathematics and science. I am and have been part of Math Team for three years, participating on the varsity team for two years. I am part of my school’s National Honors Society and put a huge value on community service. In the past, I have tutored middle school students and this year I should have the opportunity to tutor and mentor students in the Special Needs classes. I have played lacrosse for seven years already and I plan on playing for more. I made high school varsity my freshman year as a midfielder. I wasn’t able to contribute much to the team during game-time but that season I developed my game the most. I learned what it took to become a great player, a leader and succeed on the field. At the end of that season my coach addressed me and offered me a chance to play attack the following year, having never played attack before I hesitantly said yes. I knew that I had both summer and fall to learn everything about that position and become a varsity level attackman. That summer I tried out for the 2016 LB3 Elite team up in Roswell and made the team playing attack. I practiced dodges and cuts and utilized them in games to see what worked for me. I stepped into the fall knowing a lot more about my play style than I thought I ever would know. Fall was more relaxed and I was able to try new things and improve my game even more. After tryouts in late January we started practicing for my sophomore year playing high school lacrosse. It took me a couple of games to get used to playing at the varsity level at a new position but I ended the season as the leading scorer for the team with 24 goals. Going from contributing two goals and two assists as a freshman to 24 goals and 10 assists as a sophomore convinced me that my coach made the right decision in placing me on attack. After another summer and fall of challenging myself to be the best that I can be while practicing new moves, I felt more prepared for my junior year season at the high school than ever before. During that season I lead my team in goals again with 32 goals and 18 assists, Totaling 58 goals and 30 assists in my first three years of high school. Also I accumulated 116 ground balls with only 11 penalties totaling 12.5 minutes. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and golfing. I like throwing around a football with my dad and brother, and I enjoy watching football games with my dad. I am a Christian and I attend church regularly on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. I am a part of my local young life youth group that meets on Thursday nights. I have volunteered at the Midwest foodbank and I enjoy volunteer work. I work around 15 hours per week at a pizza place where I make and cook pizzas.
