I live in Sandpoint Idaho, there is no big lacrosse programs out here, like in the east, so I don't have as much experience as a player in North Carolina or New York would. But, what I do have is heart, coachability, athletic ability, and a great love for the game. Because of the lack of indoor facilities and the mass amounts of snow, my coach has created the opportunity to practice in an elementary school gym all winter. On top of going to the indoor practices on a consistent basis, I go to a crossfit program that is specifically designed for our lacrosse team. I know that I don't have the experience and lacrosse IQ that some other players have, but I’m very coachable and dedicated to the sport. I know that I can get to that next level and be a great team player in any college.
Academics are very important to me as well, my goal is to have at least 3.5 gpa (at minimum) throughout high school. Next year I will start taking AP and honors classes which will weigh my grade and prepare me for college.
I’ve learned many things about myself thus far through playing lacrosse. I’ve been placed in a leadership role on several occasions which has helped me become more confident in my leadership abilities. Some of the things that make me a good leader are my strong work ethic, my honesty, I treat others with respect, I have integrity, I’m coachable and I take pride in my performance, both on the field and in the classroom. There are several obstacles I’ve had to move through in order to get to where I am today. I played tackle football for 5 years and made the difficult decision to stop playing football before starting my freshman year in high school. This was a difficult decision for me because I had a lot of fun playing in games, but there was really nothing else I enjoyed about it. I was one of the go-to players on the football team and as one point was selected for a regional all-star team. I was not able to participate due to a fractured leg. My leg has since healed with no additional problems. I have never regretted my decision to switch to lacrosse full time.
