Personal Statement
I picked up a stick in 6th grade for the first time because a few of my friends were playing and I liked it and had a good time. A few months later my coach gave me a d-pole and I fell in love with lacrosse. Defense and ground-balls made sense to me and I had a fun time doing them. Within my first year of playing I was voted to the IBLA all star team. I have a passion for the game and am always trying to get better. I was moved up to my high-school's varsity team as a freshman. This summer I went to the University of Michigan Wolverine War camp with my high-school team and was put on the all star team in the varsity division. I play club with Team ONE. Along with all of this I am a middle linebacker for my high-school football team. I also maintain all A's and B's including some honors classes.
I put in time everyday to get better at lacrosse, whether it's in the weight room, playing wall ball, watching film of myself, running/agility drills or playing another sport. Everyday I do something that I know will help me on the lacrosse field. I am extremely coachable and a hard worker. I bring a positive attitude to everything. I am very competitive, most evident when there is a ball on the ground. I am quick to it and if I don't pick it up, I recover quickly. When I do pick it up, I get my head up and find a teammate for the feed. I love to make a slide that knocks the ball out of my opponent's stick or knocks him down. I play fast and physical and with heart. I have a strong desire to play at the next level and I believe I can benefit any team I am on.
