I have always wanted to be a goalie, but I just didn't know what sport I would fall in love with. I loved watching hockey with my father, but I had trouble learning to skate. I asked to play hockey on grass. The first time I stepped on the field to start my first lacrosse practice in the 5th grade, I knew that this was the sport that I had been wanting. I continue to be very passionate about lacrosse and my position.
I find myself lucky to have had the opportunity to work with some of the best goalies in the modern era (Gunnar Waldt, Scott Rodgers, and John Galloway). I have developed very solid fundamentals/technique that I continually work on to improve/strengthen my game and lacrosse IQ.
With continued hard work, I was the only freshman to earn a starting spot on the varsity team for my high school. Having to be a leader on a team that was all upperclassmen was very challenging, but they soon figured out that even though I was young I could play the game at a higher level than expected. I am currently competing in my third varsity season as a starter. I continue to grow and improve in many areas as both a student and an athlete.
I am looking for a college/university where I can be a STUDENT-athlete. I am currently interested in an education or business major. I expect a lot of myself in the classroom and on the lacrosse field. I want to compete at a high level and feel like I am making a positive impact on the team every practice/game. I am looking forward to embracing the challenge of being a STUDENT -athlete.
