To be a starting defenseman the entire season on my High School varsity team as a freshman was a great learning experience for me, especially since it was the first year our school was in a higher division. While heading into my sophomore season I had high expectations for myself and my team. Unfortunately, I had a great challenge put before me, as I broke my collarbone midway through the season on a hard hit I put on an attack-man. Not only did my high school season end but I was also unable to play tournaments in the summer for my travel team. I worked as hard as possible after the injury and returned to have a very strong Junior season, winning my team's defensive MVP award, making the all-conference team, but most importantly helping my team to its first district tournament appearance since the team moved to a higher division. Overall, the experience of coming back from an injury taught me a great lesson about facing adversity and working hard to overcome it and helped me grow as a person. I certainly have a greater appreciation now for every moment I am on the field.
I hope to continue to improve as both a student and an athlete, and make a strong impact to a college team while pursuing a high quality education in the Business field. I have excellent lacrosse fundamentals, but also many intangibles such as being a very vocal leader, maturity, coach-ability, and a strong work ethic. I love to work out in the gym. Overall I believe I have what it takes to play college lacrosse and make a positive contribution to your team from day one!
