Going to college is an important step in my life where I want to learn many things, both in and out of the classroom. On the field, I will make a strong effort to continue to learn all I can from the coaching staff and more experienced players, making myself a smarter student athlete.
In high school, I was privileged enough to take on the roll of a team captain in my junior year. The great honor came with many responsibilities, as I worked hard to encourage my fellow team mates both on and off the field, led by example in demonstrating good sportsmanship, and helped to lead our team to new heights as we enjoyed a much improved season.
As an individual, I have a generally positive and relaxed attitude that others can feed off of. As an athlete, I am a hard worker who strives to be the best I can be, and I act selflessly keeping the best interest of the team in mind. In academics, I may not have a perfect grade point average, but I make up for that with my ability to focus and my understanding of the delicate balance between academics and athletics.
