For me, education comes first to lacrosse. Because sports do not last forever and I need something to rely on in the future. But sports help me focus and drives me in school to do better because I know that coaches look for high achieving students as well as athletes.
In college, I am looking to get a great education and make a family with my teammates and coaches. I think that's what every team needs to have, with that relationship you have a supportive environment and room to grow. I know that from experience with my team, and we never look down on each other but always support and used constructive criticism to make us better. That has helped us be a team and win the state championship this last season.
I would also say that I am bit of a perfectionist which could be easily be my best trait or my worst. But, being a perfectionist I am not satisfied with average and just want to become a better player each time I step on the field. I attended all but two practices this past season (2013) because I knew that I needed to get better and that was going to happen at practice. Even if I was sick, I just had fight through it so I could get the playing time on the field. With me being looked down upon at times, I had to prove myself and just give all I had.
Lastly, in school I always go for a challenge. I am currently enrolled in all differentiated classes but one of my core classes (math, science, english, and social studies), which are the high level classes and go at a faster pace. And I am in one AP class which does challenges at times but I do enjoy. Also I am scheduled to graduate early next semester but I will continue to take AP classes as I finish my senior year.
