Aaron Willard '19 Recruiting Profile

I grew up near Crenshaw High School, where my dad coached baseball and football. The only other sport I was exposed to was track, and did it with the rest of my cousins. For most of my life I was limited to those options only, and it felt like I was just following in my family's footsteps. I was lucky to join a lacrosse team just to try out the sport on my own, and I fell in love with it.

Since I had started so late, my skills were far behind the kids who had already been playing for several years. But, I enjoy the sport so much I put in the work to bring myself up to par, and I'll continue to put in the extra effort to get better. I'm learning to prioritize lacrosse because I'm also involved with dance, violin, and track. Going to boarding school across the country and my broad interests, also make it difficult for me to play throughout the year. But I still always try to take every opportunity I can to play.

I am going to continue to work hard towards my goal of playing at the highest level.
