Personal Statement
Six years ago I fell in love with the sport of lacrosse and never looked back. Due to the combination of multiple sports that are present in lacrosse, I knew this was the sport for me. I have played every position in the game, besides goalie, so my lacrosse IQ is very high. The attack position is the perfect position for me because it allows me to quarterback the offense using my vision while also allowing for me to take advantage of situations when necessary. No matter what team I play on, the coaches always run the offense through me because they appreciate the type of leader I am on and off the field. I also communicate with the face-off man on the field to help them with where they should place the ball to win possession.
As a freshman I started on attack for my high school varsity team and even scored the game-winning goal in 3OT in the state playoff game to win the first playoff game in school history. That year I was awarded Rookie of the Year. This past year, my sophomore year, I received second team all-conference honors along with Team MVP. I take great pride in this award because my team consisted of 2 High Point University commits, a St. Joes commit, and one Saint Leo's commit.
In the classroom I excel as a student. My unweighted GPA is a 4.0/4.0 and my weighted GPA is a 6.62 out of 7.00. As a freshman I took Algebra 2 Honors and as a sophomore I took Pre-Calculus Honors. I am on track to take Multi-variable Calculus AP my senior year. My freshman and sophomore years consisted of 3 honors classes. My junior year is set to have 2 AP classes and an honors class.
At school I am not just a student-athlete, I also am involved in several clubs and activities. Because of my interest in studying engineering in college, I founded the Drafting Club and participate in other clubs such as: the Jr. Engineers Club, DECA, and Leadership in Sports.
When not on the field or in the classroom I enjoy helping out around the community. This past spring I was the assistant coach for the youth U15 lacrosse team and helped them go undefeated throughout the season. It was especially unique due to the fact that the boys will be playing with me next spring in high school. It was an honor to help coach the next wave of lacrosse players in the community. On the weekend, as a family, we participate in the Jewish Relief Agency and help as volunteers to bring food boxes to those in need.
I don't just play lacrosse. Last year, in my first year of ice-hockey, I helped the JV hockey team win the conference championship. But besides playing sports, my interests include hanging out with my friends, playing video games, and relaxing with my family.
