Jacob (Jake) Meyers '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jacob Thomas Meyers and I am from Cherry Hill, NJ.  I am graduating in 2019 from Cherry Hill West High School. My primary position is FOGO or FOMidfield.

A little more info about myself: I am a four year varsity letterman and starter for my school. I am 5'7 and I weigh about 150 pounds. I have played lacrosse since I was in 6th grade. This really helped when I stepped into a leadership role of my sophomore year. In high school I was selected to play at the Brine National Classic going into my sophomore year. Going into my junior year I competed at Blue Chip 225 and I was selected to play in the all star game. This same summer I played for Blue Star Lacrosse where I took all the faceoffs and consistently got my team the ball after every goal.  I was one of the team leaders but still managed to stay very good friends with the entire team while still making sure everyone was focused and pushing everyone to their full potential.  I recently participated in the Maverik D2 Showcase.  Once again I was selected to the All-Star team.

I also work as an assistant coach for my former Cherry Hill Youth Lacrosse program.  I am excited to be able to help influence the skills and advancement of my town's club program that served me so well through junior high.

In school I take a majority of honors and AP classes, have a weighted GPA of 6.02 and was inducted into the National Honor Society.  I have been honor roll my entire life and I plan to stay extremely focused on school and keep it up. I like to take pride in my work ethic and it really transfers to the lacrosse field. I'm the first on and last off the field and encourage others to put in the extra time as well. My dream is to play college lacrosse but also get a great education. I wish to major in technology or engineering.
