Personal Statement
From an early age I have been interested in all kinds of sports and sporting activities. However, in 7th grade I picked up a lacrosse stick for the first time and I was hooked. That was it – I knew this was the game for me.
Since then I have worked hard with my team and my coaches to bring my Lacrosse skill to another level, including taking endurance and agility classes at my local House of Sports. I have played on my school varsity team and my club varsity team from my Sophomore year. I was promoted to team captain twice and in 2012 and in 2014 I was honored to be awarded Most Valuable Player. In 2014 I was an All-League player.
Since 2010 to the present I have been coaching youth lacrosse with my local sports club, Robert Jacobson Sports. I have also had my own private one on one coaching jobs in 2012 and 2013. I have assisted my school coaches with training our middle school lacrosse team.
Outside of school and Lacrosse at the moment I am engaged in many other activities. I am a qualified Lifeguard with both poolside and waterfront skills including First Aid, CPR and AED with the American Red Cross. I also volunteer for the local Ambulance Corp. and have been doing so for the past year. To qualify I had to pass additional First Aid, CPR and AED tests.
During the off-season for Lacrosse I play football. I also have played on the football varsity team since my Sophomore year. This year our team are through to the playoffs for the first time in eight years.
I am a fully-committed competitor who believes in going that extra mile for the success of the team and pride of the school and the coaches. I am confident that I have established myself as a force to be reckoned with on the playing field. I play both midfield and attack.
I want to play lacrosse in college – it would be my dream come true.
