Personal Statement
Winning the Sectional II Championship as a sophomore against the Section II champions Niskayuna, so far has been the high light of my school athletic career; especially after I was asked by my head coach to start as a lefty attackman instead of my desired position of midfield. This challenge helped me grow to be more ambitious and hard-working; I learned the skills needed and I helped lead Shenendehowa back to a Section II championship, and into the state playoffs.
Although I was asked to play on the Varsity team as a 9th grader, I made the decision to play Junior Varsity. It was a very wise decision, as I was not guaranteed playing time on Varsity, but played every minute of every game on JV, and I took on a leadership position, as I was elected captain by my teammates. That decision taught me how to be a leader, and my love of the game greatly increased. I believe that I have not only the talent to play lacrosse at the collegiate level, but I also possess the desire and ambition to make an immediate and positive impact on your program.
