Erek Iwanenko '18 Recruiting Profile

My goals for college are to pursue a degree in environmental science and/or criminal justice. My goal is to work for a state or federal environmental protection agency or department of conservation.  I am kindhearted, trustworthy, and I keep my promises.  I have learned that success comes from within and my attitude determines how successful I will be. I am open to new ideas and how I can improve my performance. I confront challenges head on and do not shy away from taking responsibility for my actions. I have been a team captain of almost every team I have played for to include football, wrestling, and lacrosse. I take that responsibility very seriously. I like to lead by example being the first to arrive and the last to leave. My parents have taught me to value family, friends, and service. I believe what separates me from other recruits is my commitment to service. This summer I completed a service trip with my family to Nicaragua. I saw first hand how families lived in poverty. I returned back home with a new perspective on the difference between need and want. I do not think many players my age understand the difference.
