Personal Statement
The following are some statements from Hall of Fame coach Bob Streeten (544 career victories, fifth highest win total in US lacrosse high school history):
"This was a fantastic weekend for you! You were playing like a college Pole: aggressive on the ball, all over the groundballs, outstanding on ball coverage and always pushing the tempo at the offensive end. We finally have what we always knew you could bring to the lacrosse field."
"Ryan Burns...as a defenseman...if there is a game that goes through and your coach has not said your name in some level of angst, that's a good day for a defenseman."
"Our D Pole middie, you did some great things, getting the ball off the ground is without a doubt one of your fortes...between the lines you're as good as I've had in all my years."
"At this level you're about as good a defensive middie...the way you played today, actually the last two tournaments, you've got a great stick, you think about offense when the ball goes down there and that's what all coaches are looking for going forward."
"You have been focused, you have been everything I could possibly want as a defensive midfielder."
"I had a chance to reconnect with a player that played on my very first lacrosse team, 33 years ago at Corning East...he was one of about five long sticks I had in 31 years that could handle the long stick so when they had the ball coming down offensively, you better guard them or they're going to score on you. He was the first...this young man at this point looks like he's got the potential to become the same level of player. I think the sky's the limit for this young man, he could play close defense, I still think D middie is his best position."
