******2016 SAVE PERCENT 61%*********

I have reclassified and transferred school to Tilton School in Tilton N.H to be a 2018 recruit. This decision was made to improve my academics, athletics and test scores.  I made this choise to gain more exposure and increase the academic caliber of college selection. In addition to Lacrosse I will be playing Football.

As a Junior at one of the most competitive High Schools in Ohio in both Athletics and Academics I have found several passions.

BUSINESS

My passions in Academics are in the business classes that I am taking. I find Accounting, Economics and Math to be my strength subjects and enjoy them so much that I will be working in an accounting office this summer.  Along with Business another one of my passions is coaching youth lacrosse.

LACROSSE

  1. As a 3 year youth coach in lacrosse giving back to the team that I played for. I have great enjoyment working with the youth players. I am currently coaching goalies in private practice both Boys and Girls from ages 8-18.

Another attribute of mine has been to give back.

LEADERSHIP

I am also involved in the SAY program which is a Student Leadership Program primarily focusing on bullying, peer pressure, and teenage issues. This is my third year involved with this program.

Lastly I am a leader ... I have been playing competitively since the age of 8. As a football player on the line,in baseball as a catcher, and as a lacrosse player as a goalie. I am always the one to step up and take a challenge, direct the team and to put in the extra work needed to WIN...

GOALS

As an athlete I have learned at an early age to always set short and long term goals. Being able to set goals carries into my school life as well as my personal life. For example: last year I decided to wrestle heavy weight varsity. I lettered and won a sectional match. I did this to improve my balance, footwork, strength, and quickness. I also work with a speed and agility coach several days a week.

I have been told by many coaches that I am a very coachable player. I always stride to do my best and do the extra to get me to where I aspire to be.

  • Athletic ability: 8/10 Leadership: 9/10 Team player: 10/10 Easy to work with: 10/10 Ability: "I have known and coached Ethan for 6 years. When I started with him his athletic ability was lower than the average player. I believe the reason for that was due to his lack of confidence in himself and his abilities. He has over the 6 years worked extremely hard on being a lacrosse goalie. His ability to be an effective goalie is directly a result of the work he puts into the drills we do during our work outs and extra work away from me. For his size Ethan has quick hands and his footwork as a goalie is very good. While in the youth program the concentration was on the fundamentals on making saves, cutting down angles and directing the defense. His confidence in his ability to make saves has brought out his athletic ability into other sports. I rated him and 8 at this time because I firmly believe as Ethan continues to work his athleticism will continue to grow. To that point he plays football and at the request of the high school wrestling coach Ethan wrestled for the high school team. The state of Ohio is extremely competitive in wrestling and Ethan's results only contribute to the argument that his athletic ability is still increasing as he gets older. I am a believer that students who want to play sports are becoming too specialize at too young an age. Often you find young athletes that only play one sport since they were in 5th or 6th grade; while they are "athletic" in their sport they are not generally athletic. The coaching at these levels do not correlate the fundamentals of one sport to another and the over all athleticism of the athlete is not truly evaluated as they get older. Ethan has been successful at three vastly different sports while translating the skills in all into being a lacrosse. Ethan has the ability to become a very good athlete and I expect his athletic ability to grow as he continues to play high school sports. " Personality: "When I first met Ethan he was in 5th grade. He was quiet, not very confident and did not have much enthusiasm for lacrosse. We have a six year and continuing relationship. Over the time I have known him he has grown into a very engaging, funny and considerate person. We talk weekly about how practice went and to answer questions he has on playing goalie. After every game he contacts me to let me know how the team and he performed that day. Often with the number of goalies I work with I ask high school goalies to run the younger goalies through drills pointing out areas that need work. One must command respect from children to keep them focused at the task. Ethan has performed this role for the last two years at the Solon Attack Youth Lacrosse Club. He coaches the 3rd through 6th grade goalies on his own while I coach the 7th and 8th grade goalies. I have not had any complaints about how he handles the younger goalies. Ethan does anything and everything I ask of him. Often he gives his work out time up to help other goalies and will make up his work outs when it is convenient for me and probably not for him. While waiting for his turn in the net or for one on one time with me he is working on his own doing drills. Always working at getting better or helping out someone else. I was on the sideline for a vast majority of his games from 5th through 8th grade and I can not recall a single time Ethan said anything in frustration to his teammates. Often he provides direction to the defense in a non-judgmental way. As I watch the high school games I can see the respect he has for his teammates the respect they have for him. The person who stated the lacrosse program in Solon mentioned to me that his growth as a leader on the field is remarkable considering his demeanor as 5th grader. Ethan has been a pleasure to coach these six years. His easy going manner and his willingness to work is not often seen today. He is humble when given complements. He asks questions when he does not understand things and takes criticism extremely well for a young man. I look forward to coaching Ethan and coaching with Ethan in the future. "
