Brooks Lakin '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello, I am Brooks Lakin.  I have been told I am a natural leader on all the teams I have played on, and I really take pride in that and try to lead my team.  I always talk my teammates up, and try and push them to be the best they can be.  If a teammate is doubting a victory, I am always there to bring them up.  I try my hardest to be the one to encourage others to get better.  Becoming close, and building chemistry with my team is very important.  Skill-wise, I have a fast, hard and accurate right handed shot.  I have a good left handed shot too, and I will not hesitate to use my left hand.  I can dodge and shoot on the run, and when the slide comes I see the open man and dump it off to them.  I think it is just as important to improve others around you, as much as yourself.  When it comes to school, academics are first.  I work hard and school, and on the field.  I have a 3.4 GPA as a sophomore in High School, and I am working to improve that.  I am a leader, a motivator, and a team player.  I take the initiative on everything, and I will be the one to do it before anyone else.  This season, our head coach who started us off got fired, but I, with the help of others, kept the team together.  This season, I have had 61 goals, and 18 assists in 18 games.  I am a team captain, and I have helped my team to vicotry.  To me, the sky is the limit to what can be accomplished when a one does not care who receives the credit.
