Personal Statement

To clarify my position I am primarily a short stick defensive midfielder. I just switched from long stick midfielder to this but am enjoying it very much. I love playing lacrosse and doing anything to help improve my game. Like I said I recently switched positions so every night I go down to the gym to play wall ball and work out to make myself a better player. I consider myself a very coachable and resilient player. Due to injury I was not able to play my sophomore or first junior year (I re-classed) but that has not slowed me down yet. Although I have not had the same opportunities to play as most of the other players my age my passion for the game and to follow my dream have never faded. Right now I am playing with a broken wrist that has a screw in it. Although it hurts, I can play on it and I am tired of missing time due to injury. Also I am willing to do anything my coaches ask of me (like pick up a short stick) to help my team and do that to the best of my ability. I'm learning my new position quickly through the help of the coaches and plan to keep progressing especially once I get the hang of playing with a short stick.

To give a little background information on myself, I started playing in 6th grade and instantly fell in love with the game. I played up until 9th grade where I made the varsity team as a Long stick midfielder. As I said before I did not have the chance to play the two years after that because of injury. I then re-classed and came to the McCallie School to play for a great program. Ever since I first started playing I have always dreamed of going on and playing at a division one college level. If this means that I have to try to walk on I am very willing to do so. I also though want to be an athletic trainer or a personal trainer after my lacrosse career. In my opinion the best situation for me would be to go to a good  exercise science school where I can also play Lacrosse so I can participate in both my passions at once.
