Personal Statement
I have been playing lacrosse since I was 8 years old, heading into my sixth year of playing. I could tell the instant I placed my fingers around a stick that lacrosse was the sport for me.
I push myself and my teammates hard on and off the field. I know that leadership is best when demonstrated rather than spoken, so I strive to be constantly improving on both my stick skills and my footwork. I believe that lacrosse is a physical yet cerebral game and am constantly looking to raise the lacrosse IQ of myself and my team. Team unity means the world to me, blending together as a team allows more opportunities than just having multiple exceptional players. On the field I keep a high level of intensity while maintaining a mental balance that allows me to let my athletic abilities be best utilized to benefit my team.
My aspirations are to be excellent, I want to compete on the field and in the classroom. I am open to all college programs, but prefer one that will allow me to flourish in the classroom and reach my goal of being a solid contributor to my community. I now enjoy mentoring and training the defensive players on our younger club teams with the intent to improve the level of lacrosse in the state of Tennessee. I believe others before me paved a pathway for me to follow and I want to do more for those that come behind me.I do this by demonstrating a competitive attitude in the classroom just like I do on the field.
