I am fully committed to lacrosse, my team, school, and my grades. I am a kid that will work my absolute hardest on and of the field, and in and out of the classroom.
Playing at a collegiate level is a very big deal to me and a very important goal for me. As a collegiate athletes some of my goals are to be an all American, i also want to become one of the kids on the team that the underclassman can ask question and can come to me for help and advice.
Some of my Strengths are, i am great leader, a hard worker, and i am willing to do anything for my team. As for on the field i give it 115% every time i set foot on that field. Some of my bigger successes are riding, ground balls, creating looks for my teammates, and myself, as well as my speed and ability to move around and work the crease to get open and to confuse the defensive slide, but my greatest strength is playing behind the goal. i am a great field general or in other words a quarterback of the offense.I see the field very well, and my Lacrosse IQ is very high. I am also good at off ball movement.I have work tirelessly on my footwork and my sticks skills to be a threat on the field.
Some of the things i am working on currently are, my dodging, feeding, and step down shots as well as my lacrosse iq, my stick skills with bolth my right and left hand, my inside finishing, and my footwork.I am also working on being one of the generals on the field, and taking more dodges and becoming more of a back up dodge with my head up and look for the feed, shot or pass off and creating a re-doge. I am constantly trying to expanding my game all the time. Some of my teammates and close friends have said
" you might not be the kid scoring five goals every game but you are an important piece of the offense. Like the little things like occupying the slide or riding hard and it my not be five goals but you always have at least one important goal or assists that comes in an important time when the goal is needed."
You will find me asking coaches all the time what i need to work on and what i can do to continue and become even more of a threat on field.
I currently play on three teams Utah Starz, Black Hawks, and my high school East high school. I am hoping to get on two more teams Brady's bunch, and Wasatch LLC.
I am looking forward to talking to some of you collegiate coaches and share more of my goals, skills, and info on my self, as well as find out more about your teams and your programs.
Thanks so much,
Gabe Goorman
