Personal Statement
My name is Ryan Hooper and I am currently a Junior at Albemarle High School in Charlottesville Virginia. I maintain a 3.5 unweighted GPA and enjoy playing both lacrosse and football. As a freshman I started at LSM for the JV lacrosse team. The summer after my freshman year, I was selected by the varsity lacrosse coach to attend a team camp at Bucknell University where I earned a spot on the all star team. In the fall I was invited to attend the National Invitational 175 at Avon Old Farms college in Connecticut. Last summer after my Sophomore year my team attended Lynchburg College (VA) for our team camp. My Middle school coach said I was fast and reacted quickly to the ground ball, so he introduced me to the LSM position. After a couple of games I adjusted very well to playing LSM and never looked back. I started on my high schools Junior Varsity team as an LSM my Freshman year and was selected as the starting LSM my sophomore year on the Varsity team, and that year we won the 5A State Championship. I hope to be better my Junior year and improve my skills so we can win another State Title. My goal after High School is to attend college and study Sports Medicine and become either an Athletic Trainer or Physical Therapist, but I am open to other options that might be interested in when I get to college. The only thing that can top my academic goals is if I could continue to play lacrosse throughout my college years. I look forward to all of the possibilities.
