Personal Statement
I believe i can be the next student-Athlete that changes the world. Throughout my entire life, I've always thought that somehow, I will be able to make an impact on life as we know it. I've always been interested in the studies of Neuroscience and/or Psychology. I've always wanted to create a medicine or product that can help alter and enhance the brain in a way that makes life easier, more logical, and make reasoning/decisions more sensible. I realize that this field can be a challenge, especially with the aspirations that I have going forth into it, but I'm always up for a challenge and I don't shy away from any challenge presented to me. Aside from my academic aspirations, I want to be able to play the sport I love {lacrosse} in college, while also become a better man than the one my parents have created this far. My dream is to play D1 at a college where i feel at home and welcome, but at the end of the day, I'll go to any college that helps me out financially, will allow me to pursue the studies I feel necessary for me to be successful in the future, and the college that allows me to shine and influence a positive impact as soon as I step onto campus. I want to be able to make a positive impact on the college, while also becoming an example of what incoming freshman should aspire to be similar to.
The thing that separates me from other recruits is the fact that I have my goals, dreams, and priorities in line. I come from a family where we don't have all the glitz, glamor, and deep pockets. I've learned that nothing comes easy, and if it comes down to the wire, you have to fight for what you want. I'll fight for a scholarship and do whatever it takes to get myself into college and onto the right successful path that will help me in the future. When i set a goal, I don't stop until I've completed it, and if I fail, I get up, and I try again. Tearing my ACL was possibly the most humbling and bittersweet thing that has ever happened to me. It helped me evolve into not just a player, but a player who learned the values of dedication, hard work, and perserverance. I don't put myself past anything, and I know that I'll be a great asset to any college, whether it be academics, athletics or both, I'm willing to do whatever to make my goals/dreams come true.
