Personal Statement
Taking the opportunity to play at a higher age level as well as playing for age appropriate teams throughout my lacrosse career has enabled me to become more of a selfless leader and also has given me the capability to learn by observing and lead with my actions. As a result, I have the advantage of a greater field awareness and an improved lacrosse IQ. As a freshman, I was chosen as a swing player on my high school team and also played with the Elite Division at Blue Chip 225 as well as for the Elite Division on my select team (at a higher age group). As a sophomore, I was one of the leading goal scorers on the Varsity Team at Emerald Ridge High School. I also started on the Maniax select team and became the leading scorer. One of my proudest moments was being voted the game MVP 3 times during the 2017 Denver Shootout as well as being selected as a 2019 All Star during the same tournament. As a multi-sport athlete (lacrosse, football and basketball), I have experienced the value of flexibility, accountability and teamwork. I have been placed in multiple positions and have always been eager to do what is best for the team.
I have been given the opportunity to participate in an advanced academic program throughout my time as a student athlete and I believe this has afforded me the ability to achieve a level of competence that will prove to be an asset to my future college program. I have also earned the opportunity to participate in The Washington State DECA competition which supports my ultimate goal of obtaining a Master's Degree in Business.
I believe my dedication to my team and my academic achievements will make me a valuable leader in my future program as a student athlete. I have proven to maintain my identity as an athlete while balancing rigorous academics, this will provide stability and support to my future team. I believe I can make an immediate impact for your team on and off the field!
