Personal Statement

Hello, My name is A.J. Adams. I am a rising junior(2018) with a great passion for the sport of lacrosse. I am currently the varsity starter of my High School team, University High School, and my travel team 304 Elite. I believe I will bring a multitude of benefits to where I find is my best fit. I do not just like the sport of lacrosse, I love it. I find the sport relative to every aspect of my life, whether it is my daily wall ball routine, footwork drills, the clothes I have on, or the principles the game teaches. The sport teaches me many things. First of all, it cultivates my leadership abilities.  I am an Eagle Scout and have been Captain of teams throughout my sporting career. Lacrosse also teaches a work ethic which I posses. Lacrosse makes you work to develop both hands, and it's not easy. I find myself to be one of the few goalies willing to catch, throw, and cradle with both hands. I am comfortable that way.

As a sophomore, I was named to the WVSLA All-State team and was selected to play in the West Virginia All Star Game where I recorded 13 saves. I have been a varsity letterman in multiple sports since freshman year and the only freshman to letter in lacrosse. I had 218 saves in 17 games averaging out to 12.8 saves per game. I also only allowed 6.02 GAA.

My work ethic transfers from training and playing the game of lacrosse to the classroom. I have a 3.425 GPA with a rigorous schedule including Honors and AP classes. I challenged myself by taking all Honors classes my sophomore year.  I am taking classes a year ahead of my grade in science and math, and have scheduled AP classes for my upcoming junior year. Academics is what most recruits neglect, but it is a priority with me.

Thank you for your time,

A.J. Adams
