I am one of the many devoted and driven athletes on Atlanta Juniors. Which ever boat I may be on, no matter the slowest or fastest, I commit maximum effort. The difference I see when compared to other athletes is extra development for the sport. I have saved money in order to purchase my own erg to get faster and compete with the level of those who are heavier than me, in other words I take pride stomping out heavyweights as a lightweight. The more I improve on an erg or fix my technique on water, the more confident I feel to be a part of the team. Additionally, a group of other rowers and I have started workout programs on Monday mornings before school so other varsity men can get in additional practice hours to become faster for the team. To summarize rowing I would say that it gives me the opportunity to become a part of a team and a place in Atlanta Juniors career.
