Personal Statement

I will be a graduate from the class of 2023 of Weston High School, MA. I have been a rower for seven years since before I entered middle school. I take the sport to heart, as I feel as if it is what defines me. Getting stronger together and being disciplined in many aspects are a key part of my life. I am willing to bring upon that passion towards my rowing life in college.

I am looking to be recruited for a collegiate men’s lightweight rowing team at D1 or D3 levels. I commit to bettering myself everyday in every aspect of rowing, making the boat faster, the team happier, and achieving my academic goals. I will ready myself to contribute to society before I graduate in 2027.

  • On Halloween Sunday, the Wayland Weston Crew will head to Fall River’s Lake Watuppa to compete at the MPSRA (Massachusetts Public School Rowing Association) Fall Championships. Wayland Weston will be sending about 20 boats of both Varsity and Novice crews. In their last regatta of a powerful season, the Varsity Girls 8 will race to hold on to their 2019 trophy as the team aims to bring home a few new wins for 2021. For the first time in nearly two years, Wayland Weston Crew (WWRA) returned to competition to rule the water in its first regatta of the season. At the New England Youth and High School Championship on October 9 and 10, in a two-day head race on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester ,. WWRA fielded 20 boats and was thrilled with the results, with 12 boats medaling and three taking first place. On Oct 17 for the NH Championships George Dirth Memorial Regatta, a head race that attracted 2000 rowers and 400 boats, WWRA won the New Hampshire Cup as the #1 club. At Head of the Charles Regatta, on October 23rd-24th, the largest two-day regatta in the world, with over 600 clubs, 2,200 boats, and 12,000 rowers competing, WWRA captured another big win: Varsity Girls 8+ re-qualified for 2022, and Varsity Boys 4+ also gave an outstanding performance.
