Personal Statement
I grew up with a small family consisting of two older sisters and parents. While my sisters graduated from Spackenkill High school, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity by my grandfather to attend Our Lady Of Lourdes High School. I recognize this as a life changing opportunity and I am so grateful to him for providing me with such. I overcame great academic odds when I moved to Lourdes, coming in as a struggling student and working hard to become a honor roll member. I've always been known to be outgoing, loyal, determined, and when needed, a good friend. I've learned through my own experiences that nothing satisfies the soul more than the fruition of hard work. I work hard to make the boat go faster, and so I can contribute to the success of my teammates. Rowing is a team oriented sport, so I push my teammates past their limits as they push me past mine. Im immensely grateful for the opportunity to row, and no team would I rather row for than on Our Lady Of Lourdes with my best friends.
