Personal Statement
Soccer has been one of the most important parts of my life from as early as I can remember. I have been playing soccer since the age of 3 and it remains my passion today. I have tried other sports (football and baseball) but my heart always leads back to the soccer field. I am not sure what my future holds, but I know it will involve soccer.
I want to attend a college where I can gain an education that will help me to be a successful adult, leader and mentor, as well as compete at the collegiate level in Men’s Soccer. Both school and soccer have taught me that dedication, determination, a strong work ethic and positive attitude can take me far. I apply all of these characteristics to the soccer field as well as to my studies.
What makes me different from other recruits is my heart and my passion. I strive to always do better, to always be better, and to always perform better than I did the day before. I am eager to learn and eager to grow and not afraid to take on new challenges. For example, my primary position on the soccer field is Center Back, however my coaches have asked me to play in defensive midfield, as well as the Striker position, when more a more aggressive approach is needed in those areas.
