July 2017 Personal Statement
My name is Timmy Shicky and I play for Shattuck St. Mary's U16 DA team. I will be playing against other academy teams and at high level showcases. I play for the AZ 2000 Boys ODP team and have been invited to the ODP summer Regional camp in 2015 & 2016. I have been selected for the 00 player pool both years. I was selected from a national player pool and have trained with the West Ham Academy in London in 2014 and 2015. I was selected to train with the academies of Genoa and Chievo Veronas in November of 2016 and I was selected to go to Real Madrid and train with their academy by Generation Adidas. While in Madrid, we trained with Real Madrid academy coaches and played 2 friendlies. I played the full 90 minutes at left back for both games and we managed to beat Rayo Vallecano's u16 academy team. I communicate loudly on the back line and make supporting runs as an outside left back, but I remember my job is to defend. If needed, I can be switched to a center back or holding midfielder role. I am in shape and will do anything to play. I will not miss a game due to academic failure because I stay on top of my homework and grades. I motivate teammates through example of play and hard work.
My aspirations are to play at the next level and beyond if the opportunity presents itself. I want to develop as a player and make my weaknesses my strength. I want to earn the best degree for the career choice I want to pursue.
