Cole Nixon '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cole Nixon and I am a 6'2"; 180lb center back for the Sc Del Sol 99 Colavecchia team. I have also played Varsity soccer for Liberty High School in Peoria, Arizona since my freshman year. I have been playing soccer since age 3 and began playing at a competitive level at age 6. I believe that I have the size, presence and leadership skills that make me an asset as a center back. I am comfortable with the ball at my feet and I have an excellent understanding of the game and tactical awareness at the back. I have the ability to push midfielders forward while also being able to win balls through tackles and in the air with headers. Soccer has given me the skills to be a strong leader and, at times, a good follower. Being an athlete has taught me to be a committed and hard-working individual in not only soccer, but all aspects of life. A trait that I possess that makes me stand out is that I am passionate about my sport. I dedicate a significant amount of time to training on my own and critique myself on film to improve my performance. Many players will let failures bring them down, however, I allow my losses to humble me and my wins to motivate me in my training. My current goals are to continue improving my skills and become more consistent in order to play at the next level. I would like to attend a college that will give me the opportunity to gain experience on the field and academically challenge me.
