Personal Statement
My name is Isaac Bodie Rogers and it has always been a goal of mine to play soccer at the next level. I live in Thatcher, Arizona and I am currently a sophomore at Thatcher High School. I have a GPA of 3.72 and my academics have always been important to me. I am 6' 2'' and weigh 150 lbs. I am an attacking central midfielder, but I also have experience playing as a striker or outside midfielder. I feel that I have great vision on the field and that I can make great decisions with the ball. I feel that this has helped me with my position because I can keep calm while under pressure. I played on varsity as a freshmen. This year I started on varsity as a sophomore and earned the silver boot award, with the most assists on the team. I was also number two on the team in points. The past two seasons my team has made it to the playoffs. Thatcher is a rural area with no available club soccer, so in the off season I play in AYSO region 216. In addition to playing soccer for 11 years I have been taking dance classes for just as long. This includes tap class, which I feel has helped me greatly with my footwork and ball control. I have also earned my black belt in Korean Taekwondo, and I am a hurdler on my high school track team. All of these things I feel have helped me to become a more well rounded soccer player and better athlete. I do intend to go on a two year mission for my church during my college years. This will be an advantage to me because I will return two years older and more mature. I am very passionate, dedicated, and I love the sport of soccer. I am a very serious student, and want to attend a school where I can grow as both an athlete and a student.
