Anthony Mejia '16 Recruiting Profile

Passion is what drives me. It is my motivation to excel in all of my endeavors, whether academic or athletic. My education is most important to me and soccer is directly next to it.  My motivation to succeed and determination to perform above and beyond in everything I do make me unique and stand out from other players. I am willing to do whatever it takes to make myself better and work hard for the betterment of not only myself as an individual player but also the soccer program I am involved with. Whatever team I join, i give all  of myself to and hold back nothing.  My dream in life has always been to attend a university and play soccer at the highest level possible and I believe that training my entire life has given me the ability and experience necessary in order to achieve this goal and do so with flying colors. Academically I am a strong recruit as i have gone through the rigorous curriculum of the International Baccalaureate program and have managed to maintain my grades at a high level while playing multiple sports including soccer and tennis and being involved with extracurricular activities such as mock trial, speech and debate, and Link Crew.  Athletically, my character reveals who I am and through my playing am able to reveal my true ability. As a player i am respectful to my coaches and players and take feedback very well and can adapt or change my playing in order to improve and help the team as a whole. On the field I always make sure to have the presence of a leader and work hard not only in games but also at practice and in life as I am disciplined and committed to my sport.Soccer has always been and will always be my passion and I know that if given the opportunity, I would be able to excel at the collegiate level and be a good fit for any team I am welcomed to.
