Trevor McCaughey '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Trevor McCaughey, I am 17 years old and graduating in the class of 2015 at Murrieta Valley High School in Murrieta, California. I am 5'9" and weigh 165 pounds. I have played soccer since I was four years old and I intend to keep playing until my body slows down, in which case I hope to coach on a competitive level. My ultimate goal is to play professionally, but as I know that is very difficult to achieve, I plan to major in aeronautical engineering. I am a very strong student while also being a dedicated athlete and friend. Also, I have been involved in student leadership for over six years which has helped me expand my horizons, become a better leader and person, and improve my social skills dramatically.

I am predominantly a right-footed central midfielder (attacking or defensive) with a keen eye for a pass. I work very hard in practice and games and I bring a leadership presence and an organizational intelligence that few others possess. For these reasons, I have captained various teams throughout my career and I am currently the captain for both my club team and my high school team. I am one to dictate the tempo of the game and play simple, intelligent balls until an opportunity to penetrate the defense arises. I am willing to give my all for my coaches, teammates, and my professors in order to achieve and exceed their expectations in every way possible. I am self-motivated and determined to step up to the next level and I hope i get the opportunity to do so.
