Personal Statement
I’m in my third year on the varsity soccer team for Miramonte High School and I’ve played club soccer for six years, the past three for Walnut Creek Soccer Club. I’m very proud that my club team, Menace, is ranked in the top 100 teams in the country and currently 12th in Northern California.
I find school challenging due to my auditory processing disorder, but continue to work hard knowing the standards at Miramonte High School are very high. Miramonte is the most rigorous public high school within the Acalanes School District and Acalanes School District is ranked #2 out of 503 districts in California (over 2,000 high schools) according to U.S. News and World Report.
My most exciting soccer experience on the field was scoring the first goal in a 2-1 victory over PAC Indios (then the #1 ranked team in the country) in the championship game of the Force Adidas Premier Showcase in July 2014. My most exciting soccer experience off the field was seeing 4 professional matches in 6 days in the United Kingdom in February 2013, including Celtic vs. Juventus (Champions League knockout game) in Glasgow and Liverpool vs. West Brom (EPL) in Liverpool. My favorite player is Toni Kroos (Real Madrid and Germany) because of his passion and never-give-up determination on the pitch. My favorite soccer song is You’ll Never Walk Alone sung by the fans at either Celtic Park in Glasgow or Anfield in Liverpool.
I’m looking forward to continuing my education and playing soccer at the next level. I’m very much interested in pursuing a college degree in Liberal Arts or perhaps Business, and am looking for a small to medium size school in or near a large metropolitan area.
