Alessandro Bonomi '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Alessandro (Alex) Bonomi, I am a 17 year old goalkeeper, a junior at Palo Alto High School (Paly), 6' 1", and 165 lbs. I am currently playing for Palo Alto SC 97B Blue (ranked #25 in the nation) under Stanford men's soccer associate head coach John Smith and ex-Stanford goalkeeper Drew Hutchins. I am training on the weekends with Stanford men's soccer goalkeeper coach Ben Graham. Next season I am planning on joining an academy team in my area due to the fact that my whole team is made up of seniors who will be graduating at the end of the school year. Currently enrolled in 2 AP's and 2 Honors classes at my high school and preparing for the SAT's with help from a tutor at AJTutoring, I manage my time outside of school as efficiently as possible in order to be able to train as much as possible while also taking care of schoolwork. Ideally, I would like to play Division 1 in college because I love competition as well as training frequently. I have crafted my own training schedule that includes team training sessions, individual training sessions with my goalkeeper coach, outside skill training sessions with teammates, and my own strength and conditioning program (includes both weight training and plyometrics to improve strength and power). After college I would like to play professionally in Italy, seen as I have connections with coaches there and I speak the language fluently.

I feel that I would make a great addition to any team because of my good work ethic (I show up to team training 30 minutes early and leave 30 minutes late after a 1 and a half hour session), my discipline, and my passion for improving myself and my teammates.
