Personal Statement
I thrive on competition. Soccer is my passion. I am coachable. I strive to meet team goals and implement the coach's plan. My latest coaches have emphasized style of play and constant movement. I have played defense, midfield, and attacking positions, so I am a versatile player. I am left-footed and have excellent endurance (5 miles in 32:52, pace 6:34/mile, Oceanside Turkey Trot, Nov 2014), which has been beneficial playing in the midfield.
I play left outside back (and sometimes midfield) for RSF Attack B98 Academy in the So Cal Development Soccer League (SCDSL-Flight 1), a top league in Southern California and the USA. My club team (RSF Attack) Finished 1st in SCDSL (8-1-1) in Fall 2015 and was Repeating Back-to-Back Finalists in the 2015 Cal South National Cup & 2016 Cal South National Cup; ranked #23 in the country on TopDrawerSoccer (Feb 2016). Leadership: I was selected as co-captain of my high school Freshman soccer team before being moved up to JV after the first few league games to help solidify leadership on the team. My freshman high school season was capped off as a member of the Varsity team for CIF playoffs. I have demonstrated the ability to balance academics and athletics and perform at a high level. In my Sophomore Year, I was one of 3 sophomores selected to the Varsity team. San Marcos HS finished first in the Avocado East League with a record of 18-3-4 (State Rank 67, National Rank 174). I started at left back or left mid and was selected for Honorable Mention of the Avocado East League in my sophomore year. I elected weight lifting for my physical education class, which contributed to my growth. In my Junior Year, I was named Captain of the Varsity team and was selected 1st Team All League (again starting at left back or left mid). San Marcos HS again finished first in the Avocado East League with a record of 15-5-2 (State Rank 38, National Rank 114 as of Feb 23, 2016).
My greatest strength is being a play-maker by making strategic passes to an open player. I am set on attending college, but have yet to determine a major (currently considering Business/Finance/Economics). I place the team above personal accolades, since I take pride in meeting team goals playing in any role needed. As a team player, I encourage my teammates and motivate them to be their best.
