My name is Jacob Locker. I am currently a 2019 Graduate on Varsity soccer and track at Newbury Park HIghschool,CA . During my career I have always had good speed and that helped me to standout from other players.
Over the past three years, I have play with a two year older Gold Club team (1998). I made this move in order to break myself out of the habit of relying solely on speed. I have become much better at dribbling and shooting especially inside the box.
I like to set goals and achieve them. During my freshman track season, I improved my 100 meter time from a 12.17 to an 11.53 and my 200 meter from 24.90 to a 23.47aw.
Academics are very important to my family. My step-mom is a teacher and my father was the first in his family to graduate from college. I want to follow in his footsteps. My goal is to graduate high school with a GPA above 3.80. My favorite classes are math and science.
My father ran non-profit organizations my entire life and I learned from him the importance of giving back. One of the ways I do that is by volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club. I help in whatever way I can but I most enjoy helping run some of the sports programs.
I have always had a goal to play sports in college. It has always been a big dream of mine. I am confident that I will be an asset to your school as an athlete, a community member and student.
