Personal Statement
My name is Luke Loy and I am a senior at Pacifica High School. I have always known that I wanted to go to college and knew having great grades in school would help me get there. I put a lot of work into my school performance; it does not come naturally, so I know I have to earn it. I have played soccer since I was five and it has become the sport I love to play, study and watch. In middle school I realized that if I put as much effort into my soccer goals as I do my school goals, I could get the college education I want and play the sport I love for a college soccer program. Since I can remember, my Dad always told my sister and I, "To be good, do good, and do the right thing." I apply this to all apsects of my life and it shows in my positive relationships with my family and friends, coaches and teammates, and my school work and soccer play. Because of this I try to lead by example and I believe this leadership is why my peers selected me team captain in my first two high school soccer seasons and captain of my club team last season. I want to play and contribute to the success of a college soccer program. If I play every game, a few games or I don't play in one game; you will get the very best from me every day I am a part of your program and it will be a better program because I am part of your team. Thank you.
