Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer ever since I can remember, having started recreational soccer at 6 and moved to competitive teams at 8. Soccer is much more than a game for me, it has taught me critical life skills like the importance of teams, the need to take leadership role when called for and concentration for an extended period. In addition to these mental strengths, soccer has also helped me understand the importance of physical fitness, strength development, healthy eating habits, etc. In terms of accomplishments, I have helped my club team (Force 99) in multiple tournaments including State cups and League tournaments. I was also selected into the Harker High School Varsity team during my Freshman year where I am fortunate to be coached by Shaun Tsakiris (Current US U-16 National Team Head Coach). Academically too I think soccer has helped me develop into a much better student given the stress upon academics at my school(Ranked #3 in the nation for private schools in the US). It has helped me be more attentive and given me the leadership to participate and be an avid member in class discussions.
As you can probably tell by now, Soccer is something I want to pursue not just until school or university, it is something I hope I can carry somehow for the rest of my life in some way shape or form. My ideal college would be one where I can combine my interests in soccer with an academic focus on business and engineering.
