Personal Statement
My name is Ryan Sailor and I live in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. I am a senior at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, CO for the 2015-2016 school year.
The 2015-2016 season is my third playing defender for Real Colorado's Developmental Academy, and first for the U17/U18 Academy. For our just completed season, I started and played every minute of 29 of our 30 games as captain, missing only one game due to an injury. We conceded 31 goals in my time played for a 1.06 GA Average and 9 shutouts. We also finished in second place in the Frontier Division and were the #11 seed overall for the playoffs where we went 1-1-1. Prior to playing Academy, I played center back for Real Colorado's top U11-U14 teams, starting and playing all of but one of 125 straight U11-U14 games. I have really enjoyed the challenge of taking my game to a higher level and the rigorous training we have in the Developmental Academy.
I believe that my best traits are my ability to play with my head, my leaping ability, my leadership, my communication, and my intelligence for the game. I have great field vision and I am very good at positioning the other players around me to maximize our defensive strengths. I feel that I am a very fundamentally sound player who makes smart plays without trying to be flashy and that I am a great one-on-one defender.
For the future I look forward to hopefully playing in college someday. I believe that my leadership experience both in the classroom and on the field will make me a great fit for a college team, and I look forward to the opportunity to reach that goal. I view playing in college to be a great privilege and I am willing to put in all the hard work needed to achieve my goals. Thanks for taking the time to read my profile!
PS - The attached videos labeled 2013 are from my spring U14 team and I am #6. I am #21 in last years Academy videos, and this year I am wearing #39. The most recent highlight and full game videos wearing #39 are from the December 2014 DA Winter Showcase is Sarasota, FL. I will be posting new video of the spring season and summer USSDA playoffs in the near future.
I will post out fall schedule as soon as it is available in August.
