~~“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” ~Pele
I am determined to be the best I can be as an individual player and a team player. I have a passion to play the game of soccer at the collegiate level and I am willing to work hard and take direction to best support the team. I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. Even though I live in a rural community where American Football is considered the top sport, I am an advocate for the skill, strategy and finesse of the beautiful game of soccer. Growing up I have played in every position but have lined myself to play on the offense side of the pitch working as a forward or striker. I am able to play outside as a winger and appreciate the challenge of moving the ball forward. I attended the University of Maryland soccer Elite camp in the summer of 2014 and my playing ability was evaluated as ‘excellent physical play as target forward-great engine and ability to turn center backs’~ Brendan Bourdage- William and Mary assistant coach. One of my club coaches, Kyle McKenna, evaluated me as, 'strong in my speed of play, finishing, pressuring opponents and always trying to create chances.'
Academically I am a strong student, and work hard to maintain a high grade point average in challenging courses both in science and math as well as adding to my creative side in the visual arts. I am a member of the National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars and the County Rowdies Spirit Club at my high school. I also am a manager for the girls’ soccer team during their season. I would like to pursue a career in Physical Therapy, studying in fields of exercise physiology and nutrition in a 4 year college and then go on to a post-secondary education.
I am very active in 4-H in my community, where I show market beef, market lamb and market goat projects. I have qualified and show at the county, state and national levels and have won numerous exhibitor awards. I am also the vice-president of my 4-H Club and vice president of the Livestock Advisory Committee. As a member of the 4-H Leadership Society I developed a mentor program for new livestock showman in our county. From all of these programs I have expanded my skills in leadership, citizenship and community service. And with all that I do I have learned to manage my time well and make sure I have a balanced life.
As a member of your team I will commit myself to being an outstanding student athlete and show great dedication to my school and team.
