Eric Strauss '18 Recruiting Profile

In 16 months, I went from never having played goalkeeper, to helping lead my team to the state finals. During my first varsity season, I was named as an Honorable Mention for 3A All-State. During this past season, I was scored on 11 times in twenty games with approximately 100 saves. I realized that I had a natural gift for playing goalie: I have quick reflexes, I am focused as soon as I step onto the field, and I am willing to push myself to be the best goalkeeper I can be. I am six foot three inches and the combination of my height and my wingspan help me keep the ball out of the back of the net.  I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life.

I have excellent diving skills and quick reflexes. I am able to communicate with my team and distribute the ball from the back. I encourage my teammates and help push them to be their best. I am very teachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find.

In the classroom, I work hard and maintain a high GPA.I go to Jefferson Academy in Broomfield and I have a 3.6 GPA. I have earned honor roll every semester of school I have been granted the opportunity to take honors classes throughout high school and loved the opportunity to learn more at a higher level. I have been involved with scouts since I was five years old. I am happy to have gained the life and leadership roles that come with being a scout. I hope to continue volunteering and learning, while supporting my community in the future. I am a Life Scout and I am pursuing my Eagle rank.

I want to attend a college to pursue my academic goals and interests in Engineering and business management.I hope to attend a university where I can push myself in the classroom and on the field. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud
