Personal Statement
Ever since I could walk I have loved soccer. After 15 years of playing this amazing game it has become a part of me, an immense influence on my life and something I hope to never lose. I was raised by my single mother and have lived in many different places, but whenever things got hard I always turned to soccer. Whenever I moved to a new city, where I knew nobody, soccer always gave me a sense of community and taught me the importance of camaraderie, hard work, and leadership. Soccer has kept me motivated to do well academically and physically in order to find success in my future.
I Have played for the Colorado Rapids (U10-U16), Denver East High School (Junior Varsity/Varsity), Chaffee County United (U16-Current), Salida High School (Varsity Captain), and Steamboat Springs (U16 and U19). As a result I have played with a very diverse group of people and have learned how to adapt to each environment and help lead my teammates in order to create something great. I can play anywhere on the field but am most effective in a play making position. I am a good student and I am very focused on bettering myself academically, I am also very involved in my community. I enjoy being involved in humanitarian efforts, I volunteer at animal shelters, enjoy spending time with my friends and youth group, and am a Board Member and Youth Voice for Restorative Justice in Chaffee County Colorado. I believe I can bring an immense competitive drive, work ethic, good character, leadership, and a strong academic aspect to your program. True Grit.
