Sam Jepson '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sam Jepson and I am 5'9'' and weigh 160 lbs. I was born in Manchester, England and moved to Goshen, CT in 2007. My brother, dad, and I all had season tickets to Manchester City and followed the country supporting them, so soccer has been in my blood since a very young age. I have also been playing soccer ever since I could walk. I played for a youth team called Bramhall North 75. With them, I played at the highest standard that I could possibly play for my age. I finished top scorer for them in every season that I played. Whilst I was playing for them the academies of Bolton Wanderers and Stockport County were looking to call me up. Then once I moved to the US, I played for FSA Soccerplus in Farmington CT. Tony DiCicco was the founder of this club and coached me many times. I played with them until this last fall when I moved to Burlington Ajax coached by Leszek Wrona. I have now played nearly a season with Ajax and have scored 24 goals in the 15 games we have played. We made the State Cup final but sadly lost to Beachside 4-2 after coming from behind twice. That match I scored twice and got voted MVP. 

For High School, as I said before I live in Goshen CT and go to Wamogo Regional High School in Litchfield. We play in the Berkshire League and are a strong team in most sports. I was on varsity as a Freshman but struggled to break into the starting line up, but then my Sophomore year I started for the varsity team and finished top scorer. I scored 11 goals and had 8 assists in 16 games, this earned me and Honorable Mention for the All-Conference honors. This past season as a Junior, I again finished top scorer with 17 goals and 10 assists in 15 games. This earned me All-Conference and All-State honors, I was also voted to be on the MSG Varsity All-Connecticut 2nd team. This season I have played in 14 games and I have scored 21 goals. The voting for All-State and maybe more is soon.

Wherever I go I always settle in very well, I have learnt to do this from moving schools many times while still in England and then the big change from England to the US. So I feel as though wherever I go to college I will settle in very well and have a great college experience. I am open to any sort of college in any part of the country. I love to see new places and travel, but I also love being close to home and loved ones. I am really looking forward to the college experience and I am very eager to see what schools might look at me. 

Of course, like any other athlete looking to play in college, my dream is to go to a D1 school. But I won't let the divison of the school effect my intersest in any school. I will look at the academics and the school itself just as much as the sports, because at the end of the day college is about getting an education and that is why we go.
