My name is Nino Polletta and I am currently a senior at Watertown High School and I am very interested in play soccer at the college level. I have been on the varsity team since Sophomore year and I am a starter, at the centre back role. I have been playing soccer since I was 6. I have been striving to play at the collegiate and professional levels. Throughout my ten years of playing soccer, I have played on multiple premier teams such as Inter United FC with manager Filipe Lima, and am currently playing at Southbury FC with manager Joe Mancini.
I would describe myself as a player that is strong and fearless with great stamina. I am currently 6'2 and am a aerial threat when it comes to headers, especially when it comes to defending corners and winning balls in the air. When the ball is on the ground it is very difficult to get around me due to my size and my ability of timing tackles. I can be played at any position but due to my size and be a great threat in any spot on the back line. When I am positioned at outside back I use my speed and agility to beat attackers on the line and use my size and strength to get them off the ball. I wouldn't consider myself a Neymar when it comes down to skills, however I have good foot skills when it comes to getting out of tough situations. I am a great centre back due to my communication skills and ability to organize the back line, I also lead by example with my motivation, commitment, and play on the field. I am always the first person to arrive to practice and the last to leave. I love communicating with all my teammates to improve the team as a whole. I currently organize after school conditioning practice for the off season with the whole team team to keep improving everyone's skill levels.
I continue to achieve high grades and am always on the high honor rolls for each semester at my school, and I am involved in clubs that are available at my high school. I am currently taking all honors classes and AP classes. I currently have a 3.3 gpa and a 4.0 weighted gpa. I would like to attend a college that would help me achieve my major towards becoming an Engineer. I would like to attend a college near New England or along the East Coast.
