Personal Statement
On the field, I believe one of my most notable attributes is, versatility. I have been at the same club and essentially on the same team for almost 8 years. However, on this team, I have played almost every position imaginable. I have plenty of experience in all defensive positions. That being said, on defense I am most comfortable as a Center Back. In addition, I have also become a seasoned midfielder. Evidently, I am most effective in a defensive role as a central midfielder. However, many of my previous coaches have trusted me on the outside or in the more attacking roles of the midfield. I have an exceptional understanding for the game and the tactics involved in it. This intelligence and understanding for the game is what enables me to play so many different positions. I read the game very well and, rather than react to them, I anticipate the movements and flow of play before they occur.
Apart from soccer, I hope to find a University/College where I will be challenged in the classroom and allowed to stay true to my character. In high school, I have made an effort to involve myself in the school as much as possible. I have tried to be more than just the captain of the Varsity soccer team. I am also the current executive board treasurer of S.A.L.T.T club (Service and Leadership for Today and Tomorrow). I am involved in Campus ministry at my high school and the current treasurer of the Campus Ministry Club. And I have been enrolled in AP courses for two consecutive years. My involvement in these various groups has taught me how to balance school and extracurricular activities as a competitive student athlete. I look forward to attending a school where I can continue to be who I am, on the field and in the classroom.
