Personal Statement
My name is Christian Cox. I play center defensive midfield for Cardinal Gibbons High School, where I have played on the varsity team both my freshman and sophomore years. As I am from Parkland, Florida, I proudly play for the Parkland Soccer Club. This is my eighth year of travel club soccer.
The tragic event that occurred in my community greatly impacted me. It motivated me to continue to push myself to my limit everyday, make myself stronger both mentally and physically, and to never take anything for granted. I set a goal of playing colligate soccer and have committed myself to it. My drive and determination are often unmatched by others because of my unending motivation.
However, academic achievement is one of the most important goals in my life. My determination on the field transitions into the classroom. I have a 4.604 cumulative GPA and I am ranked 39/296 in my class. I am taking a prep class for the SAT in August 2018. I have received recognition for my success in the classroom, including the MHOC Student Athlete Scholarship Award. I plan to focus on a Pre-Law studies and eventually obtain a law degree. My goal is to continue to compete at a high level on the field and to also continue to challenge myself in the classroom with honors and AP courses.
I am open to all different types of schools and to trying new things. I pride myself in being very coachable, a fast learner, a supportive teammate, and a leader both on and off the field. I would welcome the chance to be in an environment where I can learn from others and make an impact as soon as possible. Again, because I take nothing for granted, I will absolutely be open to any opportunity. I appreciate any feedback and will use it to improve myself and my game. Thank you.
