Personal Statement
Dear Committee,
Have you ever thought about helping anyone who has suffered from a serious accident, to where they couldn’t function the way they used to? That’s what I want to do in my future. I want to help ones who want to gain their ability to walk or use their arm again. I wanted to become a physical therapist ever since I tore a muscle in my shoulder. The doctor helped me regain strength in my shoulder again and has now allowed me full range of motion I had as if it never happened. I have some experience with being in physical therapy. I helped and learned with physical therapy when I was receiving treatment.
My career goals are to become the best physical therapist in the world. The skills that help me strive in the medical field are Work ethic, persistence and communication. If I can't get something right the first time I don't stop, I try to get better than I did the last time or until I do the best I can possibly do. Being a physical therapist you have to continually encourage your patients to push themselves so they can become the best they can be. If you communicate with your patients then you can learn what helps them do better or what encourages them.
The difficulties that I have overcome are my shoulder muscle being torn in baseball and coming back to playing sports again. I should be chosen over other applicants because I work my hardest to achieve the the best results possible. Just because there is a block in my path I don't try to find one way and if I don't find it I won't give up. I'll do my best to find a way around whatever block is in my path.
Sincerely,
Jaykob Tachovsky
