It is important to me to succeed in college. I hope to have a well rounded college experience which will include good grades, soccer, volunteering, and personal growth. I believe that I will be an asset to any team that I am on because I am very dedicated, punctual, respectful, hard working, and I follow directions of my coach. I take constructive criticism well and am always trying to improve and learn from my mistakes. I am very coachable. I get along well with others and make friends easily. I work and train hard for success. I am a very fast runner with exceptional endurance and coordination. I am a strong player. When I am not training or when I do not have a game, I organize soccer games in the park with high playing level friends from both my team and other competing clubs. I also enjoy distance running and hope to run a marathon soon. I am always looking for ways to further improve my game. I also train personally with Alex Sanchez (a former professional and an A license coach). In 11th grade, I was the youngest player to tryout for the FC Miami City PDL team and I made it through the first round of cuts. Two years ago, I was invited to go on a tour of England with a team and play against academies in England (unfortunately I was not able to go).
On a scholastic level, I strive to succeed in the classes that I take. I enjoy learning. I have a good relationship with all of my teachers. I am there to learn and am respectful of the teacher and the students around me. My favorite subject is history. In June, 2017, I was invited to become a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.
I often volunteer for my club and have been asked on multiple occasions to be a ball boy for the PDL team FC Miami City. I am known for being reliable. I spent two summers volunteering as a soccer camp counselor teaching small children the game of soccer. I also volunteer as often as I can with an organization called Bridge to Hope which provides clothing and meals to the needy people in my community. I am a strong believer in giving back. I am fluent in French.
I can be seen as CB/RB #296 from a recent camp video at https://vimeopro.com/user7558269/ghealy (password: #296) and have a variety of short video clips from last season on YouTube user: G Healyu18 (I will add more as I have more upcoming games).
