Personal Statement
My dream is to play soccer at the highest possible level. For me, nothing is more fun or rewarding than playing & I enjoy the comradery of being part of a team. However, I also value getting a good education. My aptitude is in the science and technology areas. I take the most rigorous classes at my school and work very hard to excel while balancing a hectic high school schedule, travel soccer schedule, volunteer work in the community and part time work as a referee.
What sets me apart from most players who play my position is my play style that I have adapted from playing in Los Angeles, Florida, England, Germany, and the Caribbean. My best traits are my vision, technical competence and decision making under pressure. These attributes allow me to open up the game and create chances for myself and my teammates. My preffered positions are attacking midfield or striker so I can use my technical skill and vision. Although I am only 15 I play on a U19 travel team and have played on the varsity team with the seniors since freshman year. I am used to competing against players that are big, strong, and fast while maintaining my position as the top scorer on both teams. Playing up is an advantage because when I get to the college level, I will be ready for it.
I am a strong leader and great teammate. I am coachable and a quick learner and I work hard at whatever I commit to. I am excited to find a college with very high academic standards and a very competitive soccer program which will challenge me and help me grow and excel as a student athlete.
