Personal Statement
My name is Daniel Rombaut, I play Center Back for Miami Rush Kendall U19 MLS Next Academy (can also play any Defensive position). I am a Junior, graduating in 2023 and my athletic goal is to play soccer at a challenging level at college, being able to contribute from Freshman year.
I fell in love with soccer growing up in Brazil, where my family and friends played on the beach whenever we could. One of my cousins played professionally in Brazil and he taught me a lot.
Coming to the US was a great opportunity and really taught me discipline in both practice and the mental game. I have played on club travel teams since the age of 8 and have been fortunate enough to get to know much of the country through soccer tournaments (Region 3 Premier League, FYSA 3 years ODP Region III Pool, and now 4th year in USDA/MLS Academy). Internationally, I played the Figo Cup Finals in Portugal (June 2017) and have been on tour with my current Club to Colombia (January 2020). Our most recent highlight is making the U17 Dallas Cup Final (April 2021), playing at FC Dallas Stadium live on ESPN!
Academically, I am still undecided on a Major but favor Business. When I am not studying or playing or watching soccer, I play Guitar. I am an Honors Music student and member of Tri-M Society that is involved in community service through concerts and fund-raising activities. I also do community service with Breakers Soccer Club, teaching young kids to play.
I also happen to be an identical twin. My brother has played in all the same teams that I have to date, but as a Forward. Like all twins, we have been very competitive!
